Certified Postpartum Doulas (CPD) are not baby nurses or nannies. CPD are a support to the new family practically and emotionlly. CPD can help with light housework (laundry, vacuuming), light meal preparation, quick errands, education and support regarding basic baby care, general breastfeeding support, provide professional and community resources for breastfeeding, babywearing, and cloth diapering support, birth processing/story telling, and general evidence-based information and support as you enjoy your fourth trimester.
Since each mother and family is unique, this service is bendable to suit your needs best, whatever they may be. We can create a Postpartum Care Plan before the birth and make changes as needed.
Postpartum doula services make excellent gifts for new mothers. In today's society where extended families are many miles away and/or working full-time jobs, they are often unable to help a new mother in a practical way. Hiring a Postpartum Doula as a gift might be the greatest baby gift they can give!

Mother Blessing Event Planning & Officiating
$125 - event planning only
$175 - event planning and officiating
Mother Blessings are beautiful celebrations of motherhood. A long time tradition in the Dine (Navajo) culture, this ceremony marks a significant life transition. What is more significant than the birth of a mother?
Angela has been hosting Mother Blessing events since early 2009. It is her passion and honor that all babies and mothers be celebrated.
The celebration will last 60-90 minutes. You may invite 8-12 people. At the end of the ceremony the mother-to-be will have beads for making a bracelet/necklace, a floral arrangement, a birth affirmations banner and if desired a stone/candle arrangement for encouragement during her labor.
Please see the "PHOTOS" page for Mother Blessing photos.

One of the most treasured keepsakes you can have from your pregnancy is a Belly Cast. Belly casting sessions are usually scheduled at the end of the third trimester typically between 34-36 weeks (we could schedule it for close to the estimated "guess date", but run the risk of labor occurring before the casting session!)
Belly casting sessions usually take 60-90 minutes and are done in the comfort of your own home. We can cast just your belly, belly and breasts, include a shoulder or both shoulders, or any other combination you may want. The casting fee includes all the materials needed. We will need to discuss the ingredients of the materials before the casting is scheduled to insure there aren't any allergy issues with the products used.
At the close of the session, Angela will set the cast in a safe place, supported by plastic bags to keep it from sagging as it dries.
If you would like a recommendation to a local artist for a consultation, Angela can provide you with that information as well. (Angela does not do art on the cast).
Please see the "PHOTOS" page for photos of Belly Casts.
